The UTGARD Festival is the largest early medieval festival in Slovakia. About 900 reenactors from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Russia, France, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, Ireland and Chile are registering this year. The festival presents life, culture, history and military in the 9th-11th centuries in Great Moravia, Scandinavia, Poland and Kyiv Russia. Part of the festival is the largest historical camp in Slovakia, demonstrations of crafts, contemporary cuisine, concerts of contemporary music, mass battle of 300 Vikings, Slavs and Avars. This year will take time also folk-medieval company Stary Olsa from Belarus first time in Slovakia.
