I specialise in Early Medieval/Viking archaeology and in the anthropology of death. My PhD thesis, completed in 2009, examined the impact of migration on Norse identities in the North Atlantic through funerary remains. I am also an Assistant Teaching Professor in Anthropology at the University of Victoria and have an abiding interest in the learning and teaching processes. I have conducted research on undergraduate teaching in archaeology, and hope to develop this further in the future.
