Southeast Tuscany is home to the village of Cetona (Siena region). The Monte Cetona Civic Museum of Prehistory decided to set out a discovery trail through the area around Monte Cetona, combining archaeological and environmental items.
Visitors can among others visit caves. On the Belverde location an archaeological open air museum is situated with a reconstructed Middle Palaeolithic cave. A little walk further one ends up at the second location: a Bronze Age village with besides dwellings also a demonstration area. There is also room for a fake excavation for educational purposes as well as experimental archaeology areas.
