The local museum at Hermsdorf, under the smoke of Berlin, has plenty of exhibitions and activities about the recent past down to Stone Age.
In the museum garden (it used to be the old school actually) a Germanic farmstead is constructed, known locally as “das Germanische Gehöft”. It goes back to excavations nearby and is about 15 metres long. Next to it, there is a weaving workshop and a grain storage. Every now and then, the Iron Age scenery is used for events when people dreesed in period costume present activities.
