The technique of board weaving is taught from the ground up in theory and with a historical background. The participants learn to read weaving drafts and to design them themselves.

The basic forging techniques are taught in a one-day workshop. You will learn what is important in the individual work steps and make a knife based on the Iron Age model and a fibula.

On this weekend, you can plan and implement your own bronze casting projects under expert guidance.

Participants learn about the history and theoretical background of the weight loom. In practice, it is about the individual steps up to the weaving. Two participants work on a loom.

The Viking group Sæhrimnirs Frænder is visiting Haithabu for the second time. 

The women demonstrate historical textile techniques and answer questions about Viking Age outfits. 

The men allow you to look over their shoulders while doing everyday leather and wood work, making bows and making arrows.

But how did medieval music sound and how did you get involved? With music and dance instructions, visitors can relive a festival in the 1200s. And what kind of instruments were playing here?

Today we take the weaving house outside and invite them to be there when flax is made into linen and a colorful cloth is woven. You will learn all sorts of interesting facts about textile production in the early Middle Ages, as it has come down to us from the Lorsch Codex.

Leather and skins were the most important basis for Stone Age clothing. However, other materials for special purposes have also been used since the first farmers. Around 5,000 years ago, the finest fabrics made from linen were found in Europe's pile dwellings.
