Dedicated to the Thracians and their ancient and highly developed civilization, the festival "Odryuza - the cradle of a thousand cities" will take us to times that still amaze humanity today.
Those lords of time, the well-known Thracians, have left vivid traces. The most impressive Orpheus mysteries are born on our lands . Artfully processed gold, unattainable today with state-of-the-art laser technology is our legacy left by them.
At the base of many Roman cities and fortresses lies what they created, and at the base of developed civilization and culture is Thracian wisdom.
In order to present the most impressive achievements of Thracian culture, associations for ancient historical reconstruction from Bulgaria and abroad will participate in the festival.
Festival days in Historical Park will be filled with battles and rituals, and nights with wine, songs and dances of the gods.
Guests of the Historical Park will enjoy a festive program, which on the first day of the festival (29.07.2023) will present the historical reenactment "Spartacus - the destroyer of chains" - an event dedicated to the Third Slave Revolt in Rome (73-71 BC), led by the immortal son of Thrace - Spartacus.
On the second day of the festival (July 30, 2023 ), the men will try their hand at the Thracian War Games - "ARETI" ( gr. ἀρετη - "race, competition") - a kind of military "trisna" dedicated to the dead and immortal Thracian leader Spartacus and his comrades-in-arms, who fell in the battle with Rome.
Warriors and Athletes from Thrace and Dacia, from Sparta and Rome , and from the Scythian steppes will win glorious victories, will decorate their heads with laurel wreaths, and the walls of their bright temples with the broken armor of the enemy.
And their names will be spoken from the mouth of Nestos at Abdera as far as the Black Sea, and from Byzantium on the White Sea to the great river Istros. Word of their exploits will fly to great Athens and Sparta and reach mighty Rome.
