I am not a professionally trained archaeologist. I am a physicist by training. Until recently I was a research scientist at the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information technology at the University of California at San Diego. I worked closely with several groups funded by the National Geographic Society to develop equipment for archaeological investigations. In a bit of inspiration I conceived of a method for the construction of the Egyptian Pyramids that may not have been obvious to others. I communicated this to Prof. Thomas Levy and he encouraged me to put the idea to the test. We secured private funding funding to perform the engineering and with a handful of student interns we built and tested the concept to everyone's satisfaction. It included moving a 1200 Kg block. We documented the results carefully and Tom suggested that I publish in the EXARC Journal. EXARC would be an excellent forum to exchange ideas, gather information, and suggest additional experiments.
