Tim Clerbaut (° Ekeren, 1988) is an academic assistant in Provincial Roman Archaeology at Ghent University. He studied archaeology at Ghent University, where he obtained a master degree in Geoarchaeology and Archaeology of North West Europe. After having worked in the Flemish commercial archaeology, he returned to his Alma Mater to focus on the education of material studies, especially of the Gallo-Roman period. He combines his AAP-position with a PhD-research on Roman Ceramic Building Materials in the Roman North. The technical understanding linked to material culture is one of his bigger interests.
