I am a professor of anthropology at Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas. My interests in experimental archaeology are largely related to ceramic use and function. My dissertation explored ceramic use-alteration of Ubaid materials at Kenan Tepe, in southeastern Turkey. I participated in several small experiments to test use hypotheses and taphonomic processes for my dissertation. I am currently creating an experimental archaeological ceramics class at Lyon college in collaboration with the ceramics faculty. I am primarily interested in pedagogical approaches to experimental archaeology
