I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Iowa and I study ceramic loom weights from the Late Neolithic, Chalcolithic, and Early Bronze Age in southwestern Iberia. I use experimental archaeology in my research to explore how these loom weights might have been used to produce textiles in the past. To do this, I create replica loom weights and test how well they function when used in a variety of weaving and twining methods.
