Willow Weaving Course
During this willow weaving course we will make a functional garden structure to be the envy of your friends. Obelisks provide a frame to support sweet peas, sunflower plants, climbing plants and once learnt you can create any frame to suit the size you need. Make sure you can get it in your car to take home with you!
Ritual House Protection
Modern homes are protected by lockable doors and windows, and burglar alarms in many cases. But how well are they protected from evil spirits? By looking closely at historical buildings, sometimes distinctive marks can be found that usually go unnoticed. These were created to protect the house and its occupants from evil spirits.
Introduction to Enamelling
An introduction to the traditional craft of enamelling – but with a playful, contemporary edge. Local artist Sophie Buckingham will help you explore mark-making techniques using stencils, scraffito and embellishments. You will experiment with pattern and colour through the medium of kiln fired vitreous enamel on copper.
Celtic Yule at The Crannog Centre
Come for a magical Yule experience at our Yule weekends in December.
Come let the dark winter nights be lit up and join in on our Celtic toast, boast and oath.
We will have special Yuletide tours of the museum and hands-on activities outside, as well as special crafters and musicians to fill the site with life!
