Newhaven Coppice provides a space for craftspeople, volunteers, archaeologists and members of the public to discover more about the lives of people from our shared past.
It is a working woodland, which has been ever evolving over the years, with an aim of becoming a centre for ancient and traditional crafts, knowledge sharing and experimental archaeology. In 2018, Newhaven Coppice opened its gates to community groups, schools and anyone interested in learning about our native woodland heritage. To compliment and bring the incredibly deep and diverse world of our ancestors to life, we are well on the way to creating an archaeologically accurate representation of an Anglo-Saxon farmstead.

Midgard Viking Centre is Vestfold's center for the Viking Age. We work with live presentation for both individuals and groups.
At Midgard Viking Centre we are keen on activity based learning to convey knowledge about the Viking Age. Here you will be able to not only watch and read about the Viking Age, but you will also be able to put to use what you have learned. We wish to bring the Viking Age to life for our visitors.
Health and beauty are inextricably linked. People have known that as long as they exist. During this weekend, Museum Park Archeon will show how people, from prehistoric times to the 21st century, deal with the care and well-being of their bodies.
Course target: we manufacture 3 soaps to take away
Course content: What is soap? How does soap work? What raw materials are used? And how is it handled correctly? Calculation of a soap recipe; Raw materials and their processing; Additives, fragrances, colors, herbs, tools; Script with simple soaps to imitate yourself
Course objective: Each participant carves a wooden spoon and a plate with simple hand tools such as an ax, carving knife and gouges.
In the last few years, ICOM and its members have reflected upon the following difficult issues. In 2017 the subject for the international museum day was Contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums, and this year it is going to be Museums for equality: Diversity and Inclusion.

Experience the Vikings and discover how they lived in the period from the 9th to the 10th centuries. Traders and artisans present their goods and show how products were made in the Viking Age. Fighters present the different weapons and show their martial arts.
The biggest Viking re-enactment event in the island of Ireland will be back for the weekend of 16-17 May.
There will be lots to see and do for all the family including a huge variety of traditional, hand made crafts; the Viking warrior battles and the Viking long ships that feature in the TV show.
