Join Léine Medieval Crafters who will show you how to master the basics of some of the Medieval textile skills.

Making clothing in early Medieval times was very labour intensive and required skills that took many years to perfect. The result was high quality, well-made garments that reflected the status of the wearer.

During this workshop, you will have an introduction to medieval crafts and clothing. You will learn to do naalbinding (a Norse craft which produces a hard-wearing knit-fabric using only a large needle and wool yarn) and also learn to finger loop braid (a medieval craft that produces decorative trims and cords). You will have a hands-on class in drop spindle spinning, turning wool fleece into yarn

This course is suitable for beginners. It is designed for adults but will be suitable for accompanied children aged over 12 years.

Cost: €50 per person (all materials included)

ALL COURSES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE- MINIMUM NUMBERS APPLY.

This course will be repeated on 15 April.
