Being a prehistoric archaeologist I really think, that science communication is an important topic, and for that I find it a pleasure to work as an educator in a museum. Concerning crafts, my main interest is pottery, and since 2014 I conduct experiments on building Neolithic clay drums.
I am a PhD student in Archaeology from the University of Liverpool and my research is about how Archaic-Hellenistic Greek pottery kiln sites related with environmental and landscape settings.
I work in the field of experimental archaeology from the beginning of my bachelor studies at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. From 2007 I am a member of The Society for Experimental Prehistoric Archaeology working at IA NCU in Toruń.
I am a research assistant at the German Archaeological Institute. Currently I am writing my PhD on “Ancient Near Eastern Amulets“ at Freie Universität Berlin (DE). Since several years I am giving workshops on gruitbeer and mead production at Museumsdorf Düppel.
I am focused on food and cooking, mostly in the medieval Islamic world, but with occasional investigations around the Mediterranean.
I am involved in community archaeological excavation projects as well as experimental archaeology mostly based on the early medieval period. I also organise living history courses in Viking Age metalwork techniques.
