I have graduated in 2015 from the University of Wroclaw with a BA in Archaeology and in 2019 I have completed MA in Artefact Studies on the University College London.
Being a prehistoric archaeologist I really think, that science communication is an important topic, and for that I find it a pleasure to work as an educator in a museum. Concerning crafts, my main interest is pottery, and since 2014 I conduct experiments on building Neolithic clay drums.
I am a PhD student in Archaeology from the University of Liverpool and my research is about how Archaic-Hellenistic Greek pottery kiln sites related with environmental and landscape settings.
I work in the field of experimental archaeology from the beginning of my bachelor studies at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. From 2007 I am a member of The Society for Experimental Prehistoric Archaeology working at IA NCU in Toruń.
Since 2016, Sofia works on textile and clothing history research, recreating historical clothing, especially in the Iberian Peninsula and Europe, in experimental archaeology and living history, accepting costume commissions for reenactment or other events and making workshops about these subjects
I am a research assistant at the German Archaeological Institute. Currently I am writing my PhD on “Ancient Near Eastern Amulets“ at Freie Universität Berlin (DE). Since several years I am giving workshops on gruitbeer and mead production at Museumsdorf Düppel.
I am focused on food and cooking, mostly in the medieval Islamic world, but with occasional investigations around the Mediterranean.
I am involved in community archaeological excavation projects as well as experimental archaeology mostly based on the early medieval period. I also organise living history courses in Viking Age metalwork techniques.
PhD in medieval archaeology since 2011. 18 years experience in various archaeological fieldwork: necropolises, churches. My present project is to create an archaeopark in the ASTRA Open-Air Museum from Sibiu, Romania.
