I am a medieval historian, researching, publishing and teaching on aspects of medieval military culture.

I have twenty years' experience as a guide in museums and heritage sites, including the Roman Baths in Bath and Goodrich Castle in Herefordshire.

I have over thirty years experience in reenactment and costumed interpretation, most recently developing a mid-fourteenth century knightly persona.

I am also a HEMA ( Historical European Martial Arts) practitioner, focusing on fencing with the fifteenth-century longsword.
