My name is Ben Grief, and I am based in Norfolk, England. I am a recent graduate of the Experimental Archaeology and Material Culture PgCert at University College Dublin. For my final project I attempted to create a replica of the Enderby Shield which has become a bit of an obsession. I aim to further this work by pressure testing shields of this type with period weapons. I am interested in the Iron Age, earlier offensive and defensive weapons and tools and their applications. I am also deeply interested in Bronze Age wet wood, archaeology wood working from any era pre-Iron Age and landscape archaeology.
