My interdisciplinary work marries my social work training and experience with my doctoral training in folklore; specifically, I consider how people do and have used folkloric elements to create and reinforce a sense of personal sanctuary, especially in times of precarity. My work focusses on investigating this in the realm of domestic arts, most often textiles. I am also interested in engaging with applied/experiential/experimental folklore and encouraging interdisciplinary approaches.
