Helen has been an active educator and classroom teacher since the early 2000s, and has been delivering living history sessions and workshops to museums and primary schools since 2019. Helen is an active member of the historical re-enactment and experimental archaeology community, contributing to the Weorod living history group, and a selection of independent events and organisations.
Working from a range of sources including archaeological dig reports, Helen has hand-made an extensive array of authentic artifacts using period-appropriate techniques. The skills and insights acquired during this process include dyeing, spinning, weaving, cordage, net making, leather work, glass work, willow weaving, medicines, remedies, and food.
