The museum conserves, analyses and imparts knowledge about the archaeological finds of the Canton of Zug dating from the Paleolithic to the Early Middle Ages.
The focus lies on an experience-oriented display of the past. Vividly created permanent exhibition about pre- and protohistoric times in the Canton of Zug including life-size scenes and models. Yearly changing special exhibitions on present archaeological topics. Extensive program for schools and groups. Small outdoor area for activities related to Experimental Archaeology and Ancient Technology (e.g. archery, a baking oven modeled according to finds from Bronze Age, a garden, a Roman mill). Experience-oriented event program with a wide range of activities for children, adults and multi-generational groups.
