In the Carnuntum of the late 4th century, the situation has become difficult: an earthquake has damaged parts of the city massively, a part of the population has moved south to Rome and the frequent passage of large troop units makes life in the city uncertain.

The Roman Festival is in preparation! Visitors can look forward to two weekends of authentically re-enacted ancient Roman civil and military life in the Roman City Quarter and the Military City’s Amphitheatre on 15/16/22/23 June.

IMTAL Europe members, museum educators, guides or volunteers who wish to specialise in costumed live interpretation are invited to the IMTAL Europe Mini Conference and AGM in Salzburg/Austria on December 13th - 15th. The Mini Conference offers theatrical presentations, "how-to" workshops and talks given by museum professionals from around Europe. Get ready for an exceptional experience.

Fire was a valuable element at all times. The "Night of the Celtic Fire" on 13th October in the Urgeschichtmuseum MAMUZ is an evening where visitors enter the legendary world of the Celts.

MAMUZ Asparn / Zaya, with its unique flair in archaeological open-air landscapes, sets the time back to Celtic times. At the Keltenfest on 26th and 27th May, the 2,500 years almost disappear: the fireplaces are burning, bows are built, leather skins are made and Belts are forged. They had the best iron, so said the Romans, the enemies of the Celts.
