EAC10 Leiden

With 120 participants from 24 countries, we had a great time at the 10th international Conference on Experimental Archaeology #EAC10. This was the first time this conference was on the continent, in Leiden, the Netherlands, to be precise.

EXARC - REARC Conference in the United States

18 & 19 November, a colourful crowd attended the Reconstructive and Experimental Archaeology Conference (REARC). Venue was the world famous living history museum Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. In total, about 90 people participated, of which about 40 students. People travelled from West Coast to East Coast to join, and also several EXARC members from Europe were present.

EXARC Meeting and AGM 2016

About 25 members convened in Leiden, the Netherlands for a two-day meeting revolving around a discussion on EXARCs future. On 11 March our host was the Faculty of Archaeology, University of Leiden in the person of Prof. van Gijn. She showed us around through the different state of the art laboratories following on which Prof Schindler gave a presentation on how his team transformed a National Geographic reality show into a unique teaching and learning opportunity...

EAC9 Dublin and EXARC AGM

Together with UCD & INHP we enjoyed a wonderful conference in Dublin 15-18 January 2015. Over 200 delegates from almost 30 countries and a variety of backgrounds joined for three days of lectures, workshops and excursions revolving around experimental archaeology. Of course we also spent one day at an archaeological open-air museum, the Irish National Heritage Park.

Spain: 12 points

Our week in Spain was wonderful! We started with a roundtable for universities working with experimental archaeology. Then continued to Burgos where the 4th International Experimental Archaeology Conference took place. At the very end we had the EXARC AGM...
