I’m Jen. I’m a student of History, Heritage and Archaeology.
I'm going to be doing a Facebook Livestream relating to the archaeological evidence for nalbinding in the historical Viking-Age. There have been many discussions over the years as to where people get their interpretations of nalbinding from for Historical Reenactment and Living History.
I have been involved in Historic Building Conservation for 40 years including Experimental Archaeology. I am currently a conservation consultant and historic materials practitioner.
Sue studied Archaeology at the University of Exeter and her early career was as a Finds Assistant for the Museum of London and then as an Archaeological Illustrator for what is now English Heritage.
The design and the construction of the Roman saddle has not received much academic attention since the work done by Peter Connolly in 1986 (Connolly, 1986, p. 353) and Connolly with Carol von Driel in 1991 (Connolly, P, van Driel-Murray, C, 1991, pp. 33-50) .
Spend your day creating a historic frame-drum, using natural materials and ancient techniques.
Utilising ethically sourced and traditionally prepared goat hides and hand-bent birch, you will create yourself an utterly unique gift, whilst learning the history and prevalence of an instrument steeped in ancient history dating to the Neolithic!
