German open-air museum needs new organisation structure

In Hitzacker you will find the oldest archaeological open-air museum of Germany themed with Bronze Age. They are the showcase of large excavations nearby. The local town (5,000 inhabitants) is unable to support the museum so a new organization structure needs to be designed, including new sources of income.

EXARC expressed its concerns to the Ministry, the Landrat and the Mayor about the need of transition as well as the danger that if things do not go right, the museum could be closed. EXARC offered its assistance in creating a new structure which would safeguard the museum’s future.
