Great Progress for the EXARC Journal

EXARC Journal listed at the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

Since the launch of the new EXARC website, early 2018, the number of visitors went up quite much, to about 400,000 page views per year. An important part of our website is the EXARC Journal, with 125,000 page views. Not only does the EXARC Journal attract more readers, more than ever, authors find their way to our Journal. When in 2016 we published 40 articles, we now publish over 60 per year, more than one per week.

A few months ago, we started the process to register the EXARC Journal in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Although we were already doing well, we have had to improve the Journal in several aspects. Our advice for authors has been clarified, our editorial board is more visible and we have introduced persistent identifiers for all our articles. This makes them easier to find. Digital safety copies of all articles are now stored at the Royal Dutch Library.

Now that we got accepted, all our articles are in several other databases as well, thanks to DOAJ, think for example about aggregators, databases, libraries, publishers and search portals like Scopus, Serial Solutions and EBSCO. Hopefully this leads to more people reading our articles and more attention for the subjects we care about.

We thank all the people who were involved and also the ones who will keep updating our information in several places…
