Happy 2022

Like 2020, this year has been a difficult one of many of us with Covid still high on the horizon, presenting struggles to open-air museums, institutions, and individual members. Therefore, we would like to thank you and our members for your continuous support during this challenging time.

There have been some changes to the EXARC team: our director took on a new job at the Middelaldercentret and moved to Denmark, we welcomed a new office manager and many new volunteers who are dedicated to give EXARC their very best.

Our highlight this year was the very successful EAC12 World Tour online conference in March. We had 167 presentations, over 30 000 views and close to 1900 conference registrations from over 72 countries! This would not have been possible without the help from our amazing volunteers, speakers, and supporters. So, thank you again for all your hard work.

The first year of the EU-project RETOLD is over and we’re looking forward to seeing the project as well as the documentation app developing further in the next years.

We’re sad to see some of our members go and hope that they are able to rejoin the EXARC community at one point in the future. We’re always happy to have you back.

We’re looking hopeful to 2022 with more in-person meetings, e. g. at the conference at Butser in May 2022, new experiments, new projects, new journal articles and news from the open-air museum community.

We want to wish you all Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
