EXARC goes to Japan

The international museum network ICOM is of huge importance to EXARC. With 30,000 members worldwide, ICOM has a huge knowhow on how to run museums in all aspects.

September 2019, the General Conference will attract about 3,000 museum professionals to Kyoto, Japan. The overall theme is “Museums as Cultural Hubs: the Future of Tradition”. EXARC co-organises a session during this convention, together with ICOM Japan, ICOM Netherlands, DEMHIST and the Japan Museum Sieboldhuis. This session will include examples from Japanese archaeological open-air museums and is a unique chance for EXARC to meet especially Asian museum colleagues.
