#FinallyFriday: Sew much to do, sew little time

#FinallyFriday is back for our fourth installment with a great discussion about textile archaeology from Early Medieval Britain and Iron Age Slovenia.

Guest speakers are Alex Makin and Ronja Lau. Alex came to archaeology after a lifelong familial bond with textiles and study at the Royal School of Needlework as a professional embroiderer. Ronja has studied mineralized textiles from Iron Age Slovenia in her Master’s thesis, and has been very active in living history, making period clothing from start to finish from a number of different periods.

Join us on August 7, 17:00h, Amsterdam time, for chat about new ways textiles are being studied, limitations of the archaeological record, the diversity of the world in the past, and the many ways that experimental archaeology has contributed to our understanding of the archaeology of textiles.
