Volunteers requested: walking and talking the river

Rivers are of interest to so many disciplines: geology, history, archaeology, ecology and in folklore. Following-up on our article on “Tales from River Trent” the authors are looking for further volunteers to help talk about the river Tweed. This includes archaeologists. Over two weeks in September 2013, the team will walk from one end of the Tweed to the other, “like modern-day troubadours. Each day we will run storytelling events in communities along the way. These events will bring together professional storytellers and relevant academics and other ‘experts’, to tell stories about the Tweed. They will also include storysharing from the audience, so local people will contribute their own knowledge, experiences and memories.”
